The art exhibition “aufblühen” presents colorful photographs combined with a sound and video performance by Kristine Tusiashvili. The exhibition invites the viewer to engage with human trafficking in the 21st century.

Each work of art tells a story. Through the aesthetic brutality of their motifs, the discrepancy between appearance and reality becomes visible.

With aufblühen, the Windrose association – an initiative against human trafficking and forced prostitution from Düsseldorf – presents the works of Kristine Tusiashvili, renowned artist and BBK board chairwoman. Her highly aesthetic works of art only reveal the brutality of the motifs to the visitor at second glance. This shows the analogy to forced prostitution: from the outside, everything seems beautiful as long as you don't look at the lives and circumstances of those affected.

Kristine Tusiashvili and the Windrose association use art as a powerful and socially critical medium to touch people and open up new perspectives.
